I work at an at risk school which is 90% hispanic so it gives me a chance to interact with the students from their culture and point of view.

All Saints Day has no meaning to me, and as my sister lives in Mexico I am aware of the Day of the Dead, but that's about the extent of it. Pretty much business as usual for me on those days.

The Benedictine monks I have fellowship with have a mass for the Faithful Departed on this day. As I end my preparation of becoming an oblate the gesture seems to me heartfelt (to say the least). So the meaning of the day has some meaning which it never did before.

We live in an old, well established neighborhood with plenty of children who stop by for Trick or Treat. It's fun for us to interact in a fun way with the children - and, quite honestly; enjoy a little bit of silliness to boot!

I normally sit on the front porch with warm cider and a very large bowl of tasty treats (full size!). It's one of the few times we get to see some of our more reclusive neighbors.

Other than that, it has no significance - at least in any kind of "spiritual" way.
