  1. I moved to Vegas last year from Reno the mountains to the desert and still l am in a Zen Garden, just rocks and cactus not trees.
  2. Life and death are one, people are living and dying and the moment I was born I was dying. I don’t feel anxiety about it because in this life I have already died many times, in my meditation, changing life style, country or mindset is a death. I don’t think about it when I left India I landed in Tehran in 78 just in time for the revolution, people were dying but I didn’t think about death I lived every day blessed with good people, feelings and new knowledge and that brought on a good sleep, which is a kind of death every night. In the 60s my parents kicked me out of the house and disowned me another death, that was painful, but a blessing in disguise because it propelled me into the universe. I moved back to Reno to be with my parents as they moved closer to death and that was a blessing, they had some hard times but I think they welcomed it and slid into it like sliding into a cold river that is refreshing. The sliding into the river for them didn't seem painful at all, peaceful, but their clinging to life, the river bed seemed painful. Death is not a serious loss; the loss I feel is the spark that dies while we are living then people are in hell, a mindset in the present not after death. Rumi says, “Be like a tree, let the dead leaves drop.” Go with the flow through the ultimate act of individualization, another experience of life where the trees show us how every autumn.
  3. That is a great song showing people taking a responsability for their beliefs.
  4. Paul I have always found your post informative, respectful and challenging. I like the Christianity of unity and not exclusive separatism
  5. Religion and science if we do not regard them as absolute truth is responsible, I fee. Science as a word has evolved over time, in the early stages it meant knowledge in any field of discovery, now as Burl has done we have designed a box for it, but boundaries are always blurry. Different disciplines use different methods to uncover the relative truth that we can grasp. A scientist studies things and hypothesis and adapt their methods to the nature of the question or hypothesis asked; therefore people debate whether Psychology is science or not. The question should not be is Psychology science, but how true the discipline is, does it fit in with the accepted facts related to the thought experiment and if it is unsatisfactory it is either modified or discarded. The scientific method allows for creative problem solving while minimizing effects of falsification to support findings or subjective bias. Karl Popper sharply distinguishes truth from certainty. He wrote that scientific knowledge "consists in the search for truth," but it "is not the search for certainty ... All human knowledge is fallible and therefore uncertain." Einstein said, “If there is any religion that could respond to the needs of modern science, it would be Buddhism.” The Dalai Lama statement corresponds, “If science proves an aspect of Buddhism wrong, Buddhism will change.” There are many teachings or disciplines in Buddhism and a variety of methods, but they are geared to solving life problems temporarily and permanently because they deal with the mind and go beyond its relative thinking patterns. Many Christians have become Christian Buddhist and better Christians because of these practices and many Buddhist have become Buddhist Christians. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.” In Christianity we have misguided men because of the manipulation of the teaching where people read the Bible and think they have found absolute truth reading it without critical thinking. Then they scroll to the bottom and click on the small square box that says I am a Christian and they never try to rewire their brain that is causing the problems. To maintain the absolute truth they think they have found, Christian dogma goes to war with science when science can help and support Christianity. We observe Christians killing for faith, but we point out Muslims and deny observation to preserve our faith, science adjusts the theory, views and facts on what is observed. Christianity has changed, Jesus started the revolution, but it has slowed down to evolution, which is slow and sometimes backward. I feel the first step is awareness of our self, the Bible and the teachings of Jesus along with the teaching of the other Holy and respected scriptures of other religions to make sure we are going in the right direction. Francis Bacon said, “If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties.” The Pew Research Center posted a poll where they found that only 27 percent of white evangelical Protestants understand that “humans and other living things have evolved over time.” As Christian we need to work on this............................
  6. Our development and belief system is just like science as it gets more complicated or simpler, but what makes it more complicated and narrower is the hypothesis that what we believe is the absolute truth. We are relative and our truth is relative to think otherwise is intellectual irresponsibility. We are responsible when we don’t regard science as absolute truth. Everyone has their own relative truth in their own relative mind and body, go beyond those limits, you have an experience, but expressing it is relative so on this plane there is no absolute truth, but I feel those that are close to truth are compassionate to others. Not everyone that thinks they know the absolute truth is good. Hitler, “I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord’s work.”
  7. We have a revolution about reality and we need a revolution about Christianity or it will never change and we will not be able to purchase the latest computer. The common villain seems to be science, which I think is a savior for Christianity because it gives a clear view of reality at least on the physical and Quantum levels. Science and Christianity are both trying to describe our source or the beginning of reality and we Christians should not look at it or the hard questions as adversarial or try to make scientists kneel down and kiss the ring or word Christian, Jesus never said he was Christian. Science is helping us Christians clean up our act by challenging the misinformation and deception our leaders have given us out of innocent ignorance or to sell the Christian label. I find science can ask and help clear up the concepts our intellect has so we can move on to virtue, service and devotion beyond the mind without being misled by people who don’t understand science, the questions or the concepts. The people on this thread who don’t identify with Christianity have asked, challenged and help be expand in a balance, informed manner. I am not a number person so don’t look to popularity as a standard for this sight and think the conversations from many dimensions help us all go deeper and that is why we stick around. People come, go, return for the same reason growth into the self because this sight asks and responds to the hard questions. I hope people don’t hold back and fire away because I love the abstract and to space out, but I have to pacify my intellect and its questions to go beyond the mind.
  8. I feel Jesus and ISIS leaders have in common that they are both willing to physically die for what they think is the greater good. The difference would come from the dimension that their ations come from so for me to show different dimensions I separate the mind into different layers like an onion. I feel Jesus is coming from the highest layer and beyond as the early Christians who first began to use the term martyr in its new sense saw Jesus as the first and greatest martyr, on account of his crucifixion. Socrates was a great matyr and many matyrs are courageous but are not familiar with the highr layers of their mind so are coming from a different dimension. The exceptional individuals who have achieved Creative Intelligence, the third layer of the mind possess a certain charisma or power over others and they didn’t inherit it. It is unmistakable in some entertainers, executives, salesmen, teachers, politicians and others who are sincere aspirants of the truth. In the hands of egoists and degenerates this power becomes the most horrible instrument for misconduct and skepticism because they can draw negativity to themselves and then express it in hate and violence. These personalities are not one, but many who force their prejudices, opinions and dogma into destructive movements that cause poverty and ruin. The laws of nature stop these individuals by rejecting them from the higher layers of the mind and send them back to the beginning layers to start their evolution again so they can evolve eventually. Their minds are not reduced to cold, black voids devoid of evolution because under a greater consciousness they can exert better effort and influence to do better. These individuals are not the final ends to God’s creation even though they might think they are, because they go against the greater good with their materialistic approach. It is in direct opposition to the light and love of Jesus Christ because the Christian values are against blowing out our neighbor’s light to make ours shine. The Holy Spirit through Mother Nature is a kind of energy that is capable of producing higher forms of consciousness, which prevents universal decay. Pure consciousness is the source of this energy with information that is propelling us further, helping us to ascend the higher layers of the mind, developing physically, mentally and spiritually as we evolve. There is a need to develop the first two layers of the mind in order to remove obstacles so as not to be rejected from entering the higher layers of the mind. The Bible says to let our light shine and it shines, we don’t have to announce it to the world because the light says it all because if we have to assert that it shines, it means our light is broken.
  9. Realspiritik nice to see you posting again. After reading your post I landed on this essay. http://www.3quarksdaily.com/3quarksdaily/2017/05/the-primacy-of-doubt-in-an-age-of-illusory-certainty.html THE PRIMACY OF DOUBT IN AN AGE OF ILLUSORY CERTAINTY by Ashutosh Jogalekar
  10. Thomas you are right we can't reject the past it is a part of us and I feel we have to accept it to be present. That is good advice you gave it married or dating.
  11. I think you are right most people look to the past because it is hard to be present, but i feel it is worth a try. It is good to be positive and have hope for something in the future, but I like happiness and love now.
  12. Michael Jordan’s hang time was reality on the physical plane he worked hard and perfected it; I don’t think it was an illusion except you are right it was temporary flight. Living in the present is an illusion if we have difficulty being in the present, which is difficult, but I think it is worth it. The alternative is to live in the history of the past which is alright and we all do it, but we will never be able to change it good or bad or we can live in the mystery of the future which usually causes people anxiety and to be nervous. Some of the pain you referenced is depression from living and reliving past traumas or worry about the future, in my case living in the present is life and the actions I take in the present seem to make my future. I feel living in the present is an act of responsibility, which you might have been referring to because we accept where we are in the moment, altering our course from the past: therefore, making changes in our direction. I don’t think we are ever going to heal the past living it over and over because it is gone, but life is happening now. Since my hang time is not as long as Jordon’s and the older I get the shorter it is, I don’t want to postpone love and happiness for the future.
  13. The older I get the more fun I have. People might think it is dimensia, but I just want to forgive, forget and let things happen.
  14. Maybe we should just stay in the present, not worry about the future or try to figure out where everyone went wrong in the past. I keep reminding myself that happiness is living and enjoying life as it is after we are free from the mental process of sorting things out and trying to make everything into what we think it should be like. We can’t be happy with life and the brilliance around us until we open up to our potential, it is not a goal or something to achieve, but a condition where we accept the pleasant and unpleasant in ourself. When we are happy we don't worry about what comes after death, happiness will either continue or end and at 69 I am close to finding out.
  15. Thanks Tariki, I agree we should be grateful for the vector we are riding and it is fun so when it disolves in the ocean of vectors that might be awesome too.
  16. Paul good thread, Carl Sagan, also said, “A new consciousness is developing which sees the earth as a single organism and recognizes that an organism at war with itself is doomed. We are one planet.” To expand this beyond the Earth there is one pure consciousness that many call God who creates us out of an all-pervading energy; therefore, there are innumerable forms of energy in this one ocean of energy. God is in all of us as spirit, soul or call it consciousness; therefore, we need to stop fighting over who created the world and respect the Divinity within everybody. Christian and Buddhist expand on this unity, but some don't, which just shows different lines of experience that lead to those conclusions and usually violence or war. If this energy is infinite than linear time is within it and we get trapped in our line of energy or sequence of events. Christians and Buddhist believe according to their sequence of events and those individual lines are within the infinite energy all happening at once in present time; past, present and future so I think Campbell is leading us to the experience of eternity in the moment by exhausting our linear history and future by following our bliss. Burl said it very well, "Eternal life simply means that your consciousness continues after death." The energy carrying information merges with the one energy or consciousness so reincarnation could be a possibility or eternal rest, sleep, bliss.
  17. Matty welcome and it is great you are following your path zig zaging with Christian symbols or not doesn't matter. I am a Christian and what turns people off is that many are certain of Christianity, but do not live it, which is not being honest and it is careless because even if we lie to our self, our soul knows the truth. To make our vision clear, we have to be true to our self by being honest with our self, and we can do this I feel by respecting the truth, living the truth and telling the truth, which comes with honesty and you seem to have those qualities, I respect that so I can only say quiet the mind and relax into your consciousness, who you really are. Your mind being a magic eight ball will let the truth rise to the top when suspended from survival.
  18. I have observed that the conceived concepts I hold on to keep slapping me in the face until I let them go.
  19. Matthew it makes sense. I don't think the infinite is given by anyone, but always was, is and will be without end. Energy is not created or destroyed it just changes form from one energy to many so we have multidimensional frequencies in totality or duality in unity, one energy source . We are born into a physical form in the infinite without ever leaving it. It seems we all have tried or are trying to get back or get a taste of it and get a glimpse from experience sometimes stimulated by music, philosophy, poems, sports comedy, movies, alchohol, religion or drugs et cetera. And when our mind see it limits turn inward to the Divinity or energy within that links us to the energy without, which is an inside job. Then we realize we are human beings being spiritual by being human in the flow of eternity.
  20. Some one said better to give a fishing pole instead of food. I feel my dharma is to point out the perceived inbalance causing hunger and the hunger in Christianity. It seems to be my hobby while occupying this body.
  21. I feel we are the 5 blind men describing the elephant each describing a different part with the dead ends and the fall which I feel has different interpretations. To incorporate it in my Chritianity I fell on an interpretation of it that I can live with sorry if it is too abstract. Being metaphoric, the tree of life and the tree of knowledge are simply saying that we benefit by listening to the pure consciousness, the unity of the soul, and debilitated by going the way of the mind. These two trees are located in the middle of the Garden of Eden signifying two different expressions on one whole extensive unity. The whole is the pure consciousnesses that permeates everything and is never-ending that will never die and will live forever even in the objects that are temporary that are in eternity. The Bible says, “And out of the ground made the Lord God (Subtle Energy) to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” (Genesis 2:9) The Book of Genesis tells us in story form the basic concepts and the accepted wisdom about our relations on the physical plane and the spiritual plane. The fundamental message is that our expansion from the material into the spiritual realm and higher dimensions of consciousness reveals our dual nature when revealed in unity. Therefore; we have two trees located in the middle of the Garden of Eden representing our material and divine natures. The tree of knowledge of good and evil is a metaphor for the thinking mind or our capacity to form thoughts that classify, differentiate and can single out favoritism or prejudice. The tree of life signifies a spiritual plane of consciousness that flows from divine unity and is an inward encounter with the soul and not the outward experience of the mind. Socrates said, “If you don’t get what you want you suffer; if you get what you don’t want, you suffer; even when you get exactly what you want, you still suffer because you can’t hold on to it forever. Your mind is your predicament. It wants to be free of change. Free of pain, free of the obligations of life and death. But change is law and no amount of pretending will alter that reality.” Pain carries information that we will enjoy life more if we would only do more of something or less of something and when we get the message and respond the pain goes away. Our identification with our mind creates boundaries, limits, separation and our suffering, but when we identify with the soul love flows without boundaries as it is made new every second of every moment. An amazing thing happens when we eat of the tree of life because we begin doing what we love and what makes us happy. In the soul we live each moment just being in it, content with what happens as we flow with love as our intuition is alive and clear guiding us to pure joy. The mind creates good and bad, limitations and boundaries, but our soul crosses and goes beyond them to reside in pure consciousness and ocean of love.
  22. I feel the infinite can't be described with words so I use many symbols all meaning the same thing call it God, God the Father, Quantum Unity, Quantum Soup, Source, Energy Divinity, Divine Energy or I use it a lot Ocean of Pure Consciousness. They are just symbols words that in my mind are small descriptions of parts of the whole or reminders of totality.
  23. tariki I agree with the multi-dimensional. My spiritual practice takes me to a place where there are no problems, no food, no hunger and it is enjoyable just being, but my spiritual growth seems to come in the physical dimension with cause and effect. My spiritual practice keeps me unattached so I do the best I can without the emotional buy in. It might be old age because when I was young I was active, attached and got in a lot of trouble. I feel unattached I am more effective. Trump has 3 White Houses so how many do we have to pay for so he is happy, how many cars does Romney need? I feel on this plane where numbers matter we just need balance so we are all moving up together and not just the 1%. I am sorry for them grabbing everything in reach in their suffering while others can't get anything.
  24. ramansh, Thank you that video is awe awe awesome.
