Anthony Gifford Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 I'm almost eighty - am a 'bad-boy' clergy, and so am not laity. There's no use for me in churches, I've found, yet need to share and grow with others. What has worked for others in my case? I'm in Kingston, Ontario. Churches here are either fundamentalist and spontaneous, or the more open-minded, but more limited by their structure. Any suggestions or support? 1 Quote
Kellerman Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Start your own informal spiritual meet up group? I met an Anglican minister from the Ottawa area who holds weekly pub nights, I think she calls it Suds and Scripture or something like that. Quote
romansh Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Can I suggest Gretta Vosper ... She is from Kingston ... I don't know where her ministry is now. Perhaps if you can get hold of her somehow, she can recommend something sensible. (I have heard her speak ... I think she is a good halfway house). Quote

JosephM Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Hello Anthony, Welcome to the forum. You are not alone in your quest. Starting your own small support group to meet in your homes would be great if you can find some like-minded individuals. Too much structure seems to me inevitable with larger groups. Best of luck in your endeavors. Joseph Quote
