FredP Posted August 5, 2005 Author Posted August 5, 2005 9lbs 10oz? Your poor wife! Egads. Any complications with the delivery? Well, in addition to his size, he was also posterior, i.e. head down, but face forward. If you've ever heard of "back labor," that's it, and it's really painful. She labored as long as she could without any drugs or medical intervention, but ultimately had to be C-sectioned. As much as we advocate and were prepared to go the natural route, we do realize there are times when modern technology does have something valuable to offer! Quote
AletheiaRivers Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 but ultimately had to be C-sectioned I had a feeling that was how it went down. Again, congratulations and love to you and your family! Quote

Our first was born naturally after an great struggle, our second was born by C section after a great struggle. Without the technology neither of our children would be alive and neither would my wife. Natural is good if it is backed up by the appropriate technology. You are entering into the most wonderful, rewarding and frustrating time of your life. I salute you! Quote

FredP Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 He is SO DANG CUTE! He definitely has your nose. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm ... err ... honored that you can speak so confidently about my nose from a 64 pixel-square icon. :^) Quote
AletheiaRivers Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Hehehehe. I knew you'd say that! OK, so I can't say FOR SURE that he has your nose, but it seems to me, from the little that I can see of it in the 64 pixel icon, that he has your nose. Quote
flowperson Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Looks like the twin of a baby at the next table in the deli where I ate lunch with my parents yesterday. Does he like corned beef? Where I grew up we would have called it a good beginning of a Roman nose. Quote
cunninglily Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Can he be one month old already??!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dang! What ARE you guys feeding that kid? At this rate he'll be posting in 6 months! lily Quote
des Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Hey, didn't you know he's already posting in daddy's account. He logs in-- you never know the difference. Daddy has taught him most of the theological fine points. That kid is really smart. (Hey kid, take it easy on me, I never had the advantages that you did!!) :-P --des Can he be one month old already??!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dang! What ARE you guys feeding that kid? FredP Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 Dang! What ARE you guys feeding that kid?At this rate he'll be posting in 6 months! Well, keep in mind that he was already almost 10 pounds at birth... The pics are kind of deceiving, he's actually not quite 12 yet. Between the overalls and the cloth diaper, he looks kind of he might be on his way to kindergarten. I don't think he's posting anything yet... I'll have to check the browser cache. Quote
October's Autumn Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Wow! He sure is cute! Is he smiling or does he have gas? I can't believe he is only a month old! He is BIG! I'd have guessed 3 or 4 months. Quote
