Jenmary Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 My internet search led me to this message board. I am a member of a Progressive Christianity Group here in the UK and I'm looking for advice about a progressive approach to the Gospel of John. Can anyone recommend a good book on the 4th Gospel please? Jennifer
glintofpewter Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Jennifer, Welcome. I am glad you found us and I hope we have a recommendation or two. Dutch
Yvonne Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Hi Jennifer, First of all, welcome. I just finished reading "The Last Week" by Marcus Borg & John Dominic Crossan. While it specifically deals with the period of what we refer to as Holy Week, mostly through Mark's gospel, they have some beautiful insights into John's Gospel. Just a thought.
PaulS Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Jennifer, You may be aware that Bishop John Spong has said that he is writing a book about the gospel of John. I don't know where he currently is with it though. Cheers Paul
Inthedark Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Welcome Jennifer. There are some very well read individuals here who I'm sure can help. Unfortunately I'm not one of them! But welcome all the same. Regards Paul.
