Yvonne Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Here's a "what if..." question for you all: What if you were called upon to speak about Progressive Christianity to a group that was mixed in terms of religious beliefs/practices, what two experts would you be most likely to quote about either Christianity or theology in general?
Yvonne Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 I think I would choose Bede Griffith and Marcus Borg (talk about a range!)
murmsk Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I might make a distinction between an expert and a passion Borg would certainly be the expert. His understanding of scriptures is unrivaled as is his ability to communicate to students of the faith. There are several whose passion has inspired me but I don't think they would consider themselves experts. Spong and McClaren come to mind as does Yvette Flunder steve
rivanna Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Yvonne, I think Robin Meyers qualifies both as an expert and a PC writer with a passion, and very quotable.
