a higher way Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Just a note to say "hi" to all here. I'm just now looking at some of the threads, and I'm excited about what I see! I'll say more about myself later if anyone asks.. For now, I'm off to the boards! Blessings to all, Brian

a higher way Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Hi guys, Thanks; nice to be here! Soma, I'm checking out your site a bit. Ever heard of Gerrard Winstanley? Some of his works are very interesting regarding Christ within; I am fortunate to have some of these works and I've been transcribing them with the thought of putting them on the web. Brian
grampawombat Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I don't have any primary source material, but I do have Winstanley the Digger by T. Wilson Hayes (1979, Harvard Press). Winstanley was one of a group of radical puritans who tilled (dug) the soil on a contested plot of ground to protest and oppose confiscation of the land by the rich during the English Civil War (1642-1650).
soma Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I have not heard of Gerrard Winstanley, but you guys have ignited my interest. I look forward to your insights and knowledge.
a higher way Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Yes, he was around during a very unstable period of English history, and his socialist tendencies are much reflected in his writings regarding the Earth as property of all, not some. I'll put one of his works on my website, give me a few hours; it's a downloadable doc, called "The New Law of Righteousness." I transcribed it identically, so the writing is an old english, but I didn't want to change it. Let me know what you all think! Brian
