Lance Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Anther new guy, here. I'm a liberal Lutheran from Portland, Oregon. Right now I'm a member at an LCMS church which is a more conservative Lutheran denomination. My kids attend the school there. My wife and I have been talking seriously, though, about switching to the ELCA, the more liberal Lutheran denomination, because it's more in line with our own theology. As my sig says, I believe that whenever we read the Bible, we need to do it through lenses of love. The Jesus of the Gospels blew apart the purity laws, so let's not worry about those anymore. And Paul, though he was a great man of God and wrote some profound things, was a product of his time and place and sometimes was full of ... Love God & love your neighbor; that's what it's all about.
soma Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Lance look forward to your post. I also also see love as the connection, the energy in string theory, and the quantum in physics as you. If in thirst you drink water from a cup, you see God in it. Those who are not in love with God will see only their own faces in it. Rumi Quote Welcome, Soma
Mike Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Welcome to the board Lance. It looks like we have much in common interest-wise. I look forward to your participation here. Peace to you, Mike
