estall Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I am a youth minister in Greenville, S.C. and am very happy with my job and enjoy the fellowship that my church offers - although it is more conservative than I am, the people are just good folk. However, I struggle to find a like-minded community outside of my church in this more conservative area. I would love to have some sort of fellowship, Bible Study, etc... but for now, I do what I can to connect. So, I am happy to have found this community even though it is a cyber one. Ed
flowperson Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Welcome to TCPC Estall ! Yes it is a community, but it is full of misfits, cranks, and honest people looking for the way. Many here have tried other ways and they have not found their home. But some of us do find solace in the different viewpoints and the common faith we try to share here. Looking forward to your thoughts. flow....

Ed Hello Ed, When applying conservative and liberal labels, we have seen the damage that the missuse of these labels can cause, I personally would and do fall into the catagory of centrist, I also recently learned that I lean at the center from liberal to conservative, toward Statist. In other words I feel there is a great need for the government to be involved in our lives. I believe the government has the responsibility to protect the individual citizens. I also believe in transparency and that we need to make accountability a focal point in our everyday lives. So what I would like to know is your definitions of conservative and liberal and how you feel about issues such as tithing and flat tax and supporting the elderly. It is wonderful to belong to a cyber community, it is eye opening to realize that most people in a cyber community are people that you could meet on the street any moment of any day. What free nation requires you to renounce communism and then empowers you to become a communist by living in a socialist dream world claiming to be a free market system built upon democratic values.
