Does anyone know how to contact Bishop Spong regarding factual errors in essays?
In the subject essay he conflates the results of the doctrinal assessment with the ongoing political campaign. That is wrong and his description as to what occurred is not true. The doctrinal assessment process began in April 2008, four years ago. The nuns are now dealing with the results of that assessment, which were known back in 2011 but not shared with the LCWR because the apostolic visitation, a separate process, was just wrapping up.
I admire Bishop Spong, but in this instance getting the facts straight is very important in making an assessment of what actually happened,
