  1. I have read the book and it is very profound. The book takes you deeper in your mind so the ego doesn't get in the way of the teachings of Jesus. I would say the teachings are very progressive and Christian. Glad to see you are enjoying it.
  2. Socialism is not a bad word, it came about way before Carl Marx. Christians practise socialism and make the world a better place. Luke 3:11 11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. Jesus and his disciples completely shared their material possessions. Matthew 19:21,24 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. ... 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. The common good is considered honorable and more divine than the selfish attitude of every man for himself that Conservatives profess. Today, over a billion people live in abject poverty in the world. "Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself" Does not mean imperalism or capitalizing on others misfortunes. If we let all believers interpret the Bible for themselves, it could lead to democratic thoughts, countering the conservative view that clergy only can interpret. Any person can understand the Scriptures as well as (or better than) many learned clerics. The Bible in English has helped men and women to think about society, to criticise its institutions, and to question some of today's values. The consevative clerics today know all the prices, but not the value. They are mean minded and do not lead by example.
  3. Thanks those are great comments. I see your point and will see how Christ way fits, I hope for other suggestions too.
  4. Here is the rewrite. Please give comments. I will rewrite again if necessary. Today, there exists a division between Christians and their brothers and sisters the Fundamentalist on the question of the role of humans in the universe. This question is not just for philosophy and theology but for science as well. To answer this question I will have to expand on the traditional boundaries of Christianity. Christians who are progressive see Christ’s physical relationship with people as a unity between love of God and love of the world while Fundamentalist see only the love of God. Jesus Christ the Progressive’s savior sees God everywhere through an increased interior vision of unity and an increased consciousness that I will refer to as Christ consciousness. This mysterious gift in our existence is the grace that gets us past the perception of multiplicity so one truly loves another as oneself. Christ consciousness brings real consistency to the world and sweeps away all differences so Progressive Christians can accept the Fundamentalist and other religions while laboriously expanding their own consciousness with their love and selfless actions. The thrust is not from a church organization below, but from an attraction above in the expanded thought of Jesus Christ. Progressive Christians do not have to be resigned to lead a double life between a church’s dogma and their spiritual experience in the all-encompassing love of Christ because ultimately the uniting force of Christ consciousness helps them see that God is everywhere and in all people. Their charity and work to make society better unifies Progressive Christians on a deeper level. The unconditional love of Jesus prevails and one can see it in the charity and service being redered. The Progressive Christians see God in the world and in humanity so God is everywhere. By helping other people who are poor or less fortunate they are serving God. This external method of selfless service helps one discover the interior vision and motive of Jesus. It makes people more like Christ by developing the unit consciousness, bringing greater love along with an internal and external awareness of unity. Christ consciousness transfers one to a higher level that can be compared to the boiling of a liquid, where injection of energy suddenly changes the liquid into a gas. We can see this as consciousness develops in evolution from the act of instinct to the act of thought. Critical points are reached in evolution, rungs on a ladder climbed expanding awareness and consciousness towards a higher all pervading consciousness. This upward “coiling” towards a greater intelligence in humans I would call Christ consciousness. Science has shown evolution to be an ascent towards man and his reflective consciousness while Progressive Christianity is trying to show through Christ an ascent to God the Father. This ascent brings greater unity, happiness and love because Jesus had a more advanced perception, a greater love and consciousness so he can show us the way and the light. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (From the NIV Bible, John 14:6)” A greater love, unity, and consciousness like Jesus has presents us with an ideal to follow. Christ consciousness allows people to experience God in everything, therefore the need to serve, act and cooperate with everything. He gives us a new mind-set and a new concept of life, which helps us form a new humanity on the individual and community level for Christians and non-Christians. This is a new concept, a belief that helps one transcend biological evolution and start spiritual evolution. This causes a social evolution because as the individual progresses so does society. Progressive Christianity is therefore a path to spiritual progress and social change. Jesus said, "I am the light and the way and it is only through me that my Father's kingdom can be attained." Jesus was a man, and Christ was the perfect man so some refer to Jesus Christ as the God man. Christ consciousness is perfect. The Christ way is to lay aside our fears, doubts and worries so we can enter into a silent, peaceful contemplation God. God is everywhere so He is within us and is perfect so our doubts and fears our destroyed, and all uncertainty and disbelief cast out. Christ consciousness helps one to let go, to drop every fear, and to enter into inner communion with God and our fellow beings. A Progressive Christian serves others because by doing this God is also being served. This path to development is individual and collective. It is collective because we are all developing or progressing to the same Almighty Power. For example, we are sitting on a beach watching the sunset. I see a path from the sun reflecting off the ocean directed to me. I call this the Christian or Christ way, but the person next to me sees a different path reflecting off the water, and that path is called something else. A Progressive Christian accepts both paths because they are directed to the same sun, the same light or Almighty Power. A Fundamental Christian would have difficulty with another path to God. All Christians draw full, complete and perfect joy from Christ because He helps us remove all mental obstructions to peace. All confusion, doubt, condemnation and judgments are surrendered to God. The Soul is higher than the mind and more than the body so all conflicts can be removed and healed without effort, both in the mind and the body. The Christ way governs the activities of life leading all Christians to fulfillment with joy, love, unity, happiness and success. The Progressive Christian sees many paths to God depending on the individual, but the Fundamentalist sees only one. The Progressive Christian serves God by serving humanity and his community while the Fundamentalist serves God by preaching. The way of Jesus Christ is a path that Progressive Christians have chosen, but they realize that there are many paths as there are individuals, thus Christianity has the Progressives and the Fundamentalist who believe in only one path. Jesus said He is the only way, which is through the light of harmony and unity. That means serving others because that is a part of unity. There are many candles giving off warmth and lighting other candles so I think Jesus was saying it is only through perfecting, serving, and developing that one experiences the kingdom of the Almighty.
  5. Thanks , I have noticed that now that you pointed it out. I will probably have to rewrite it a few times. I just rewrote it already changing some of the sexiest language and dropping consciousness a couple of times with different descriptions.
  6. Is speaking New Age wrong when we talk about Christ? I feel if God is beyond our individual mind there would be many ways to describe Him. Social change is important, but a society is made up of individuals so if we develop the individual we develop society. Spiritual progress social change. Jeep I like you post that we are always with God. I see God as an ocean of pure consciousness and us as cups of that water floating in the ocean. Our ego being the cup. Tha water in the cup is the same as the ocean, but the ego separates us. Is that similar to the course on miracles, sounds interesting. Brother Rog keep up the good work to make our society better, God knows we need improvement. Thanks for the post
  7. I wrote this to submit to a magazine and would like your comments. He gives us a new mind-set and a new concept of life, which helps us form a new humanity on the individual and community level for Christians and non-Christians. This is Progressive Christianity a belief that helps us transcend biological evolution and start spiritual evolution. 8. I think it boils down to our role model and Savior Jesus Christ. Was he tolerant? I think yes.
  9. Sorry it is called Christian forums plural. AletheiaRivers I think you have been there you described it perfectly with the blessings and reputation stuff. Thank you for all your support Let us all go on developing methods to understand the universe because with our discoveries we can split apart the physical and spiritual sides of life and gain knowledge because the more we know of the individual things, the more we know of the whole. The relationship between our human nature, the world and the beyond is made understandable, as we perceive that life is a relative and intricate part of an undivided whole. We just have to be careful not to get engulfed by the particular things and lose sight of the total picture. Love you all
  10. It is called Christian Forum. The link is on my other computer I will get it when I can get there. They give you a Christian icon if you are Christian, but they said I was not Christian and said I had to remove the icon. I said I believed in the Niceene Creed and that Jesus was my savior, but they didn't care. I don't think they like me using the term Christ consciousness. I don't see anything wrong with it because it helps me put everything into perspective.
  11. The following post got be banned from a Christian forum. I guess the post is more true than I could imagine. Thank God for Progressive Christians!!!! Unity is love so emphasis on religious differences, race or intolerance rather than the unity of God is a strange god indeed and can be a challenge for us to overcome so we need to invoke the unity of God in all things. Jesus said, "Love thy neighbor as thyself," because it provides an effective answer to the many problems of modern life. This call for love tells us that we are united and that no other person is separate or apart in God\'s spiritual consciousness. Recognizing that we are all one in God\'s consciousness gives us full protection in His unity by integrating our individual life with the world around us and providing a basic harmony and equilibrium in our hearts and minds. This is a kind of insurance from the flood of negativity surrounding us because a relaxed mind and body is positive, priceless and an indestructible way to receive successful ideas and results. I can see some people's point of view that Christians are intolerant because many are. We all know sincere Christians and they are not the problem, but Crhsitians without love who see Christianity as an ego trip to put others down are giving Christianity a bad name.
  12. About the fall most of the following I got from the book "Evolution of Consciousness". A person in Christ consciousness is in total harmony and is at peace and happiness within the mind, the body and with others. Men and women determine their own destiny with some independence. They don't have to stay in harmony or seek it, and they can seek support from other means instead of from the divine source. "And the Lord said, “My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh..." (Gen. 6:3). If the hierarchy of Spirit over mind over body is destroyed and pure consciousness is no longer called into existence, then people cease to be like God and desire not to unite with pure consciousness. This is the Fall of Adam from paradise. This fragmentation causes man's spirit to disengage from pure consciousness, and it no longer is the life source of man. Man is left to himself until once again he tries to recover the lost harmony. The moment the mind of man ceases to be a channel to pure consciousness, the inspiration of unity ceases to be channeled from the soul into the psyche and ceases to invigorate the body. This cut off from ecstasy is the fall from the harmony of Eden. After the fall from the Eden state of mind, we as individuals must labor and be troubled to gain support for the rest of our days unless we decide to change our course of action. Instead of communing with pure consciousness and unity, after the fall we share in the life of the material world. The material world is where our bodies obtain life, ill health, unhappiness, confusion and death because our bodies came from dust and will return to dust. It is our invisible spiritual nature, which harmonizes, balances, cultivates and brings forth the good in our body and mind. If we don’t associate with pure consciousness in a harmonious state of mind, body and affairs, we have to depend totally on the created world and are subject to its pain and hardship. After becoming more and more involved with the external world and experiencing pain, the struggle of the flesh once again becomes a struggle for happiness. The nature of the flesh being self-centered, possessive, fearful, and always trying to force its will on others after suffering in the world, finally returns our mind on a direction back through individual consciousness to Christ consciousness to a path leading to the soul. Suffering makes us not happy with the material world so our minds lead us back through the depths of our own being to the kingdom of God.
  13. You have the strength and the experience to reach, love and respect many people. You will light many minds. Namaste
  14. We are all sitting on the beach and we all see the sun setting on the horrizon. Each one of us see a path of light coming across the water and each one is separate, but they all lead to the same sun. We say we are following Jesus and yes we still see different paths on the water. Let us learn, celebrate and help each other on our different paths to the same place. There inevitably comes a time when evil, the devil and matter fail as an answer to life’s problems. I like to think of Jesus as the man and Christ as a consciousness that is leading me to the pure consciousness of the Father. People intuitively know that God is one and that we are all united in pure consciousness; therefore, no one is left out of heaven, and everyone possess the inherent ability to discover God. No one needs to remain in evil and darkness, if one desires to find light and live in pure consciousness. When everything is seen as God, then there is nothing evil that can oppose God or divine consciousness. The devil cannot squelch, repeal or conceal pure consciousness just like we cannot stop the sun from rising; nothing has the power to stop pure consciousness in the individual mind. Make a Christian a better Christian, a Buddhist a better Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Tantric ect.
  15. Christ Consciousness Is All Powerful The microcosm cannot grasp the macrocosm because it is too vast. The image that our unit minds can grasp is another unit being who serves as a model for spiritual life. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Jesus is pointing the way to the macrocosmic mind and is the tangential point between the macrocosm and the microcosm. By using Jesus as a personal model and a focal point, we can attain Christ consciousness. It is the perfect consciousness for the human model because it has attained all of the possibilities in the human state. In it all potential is actualized on this earthly plane so it becomes the prototype of being for the Christ conscious mind. It admits and supports the idea that there are varied upward paths to pure consciousness, and the diversity in different world faiths diminishes as one approaches Christ consciousness. Evolution and all spiritual paths lead to pure consciousness. In Christ consciousness the human ego with which most of us identify is nothing but a tool to do service with on this earthly plane, the external reality. The inward reality is linked with the inward reality of the whole universe. In Christ consciousness there is a place in the mind that merges with the Mind of God and draws strength and inspiration from it. Therefore, Christ said, "I and the Father are one." The words, "I and the Father are one" can be interpreted to mean that I, the individual ego does not exist. The Father is everything so nothing has existence except pure consciousness; God is all there is; and I am a nonentity. Christ consciousness is not identified with the ego; therefore, Christ is the image of the true self that is developed. He is a model for us to imitate, an ideal that exists in our hearts and is a tangential point between the microcosm and the macrocosm. Jesus is pointing to God, the Father so we should not mistake his fingers as the goal and run over his hand, but see Jesus as the way. When we come closer to our spiritual role models, we come closer to all, and vice a versa; when we come closer to all, we come closer to our role models. Thus, we should work on expanding our minds and seeing the all-pervading consciousness working in life.
  16. BeachofEden, Thank you for your Liberal Catholic links. I just had a book published and I am willing to give free classes and lectures to groups in the Reno vicinity or California. I feel the ideas in the book are progressive Christian. The fundamental Christians will not read it and feel threatened by it. The Christians you have been referring to have given me a lot of positive feedback. "Evolution of Consciousness" is a book that merits serious and quality attention. I lived as a monk and have written some refreshing ideas on Christianity. The book is appealing in particular because it explains the Christian mysteries so everyone can understand them. The book evolves in stages as the reader is taken on a transforming journey through the layers of the mind, the parts of the mind and evolution. Among the themes explored are: Christ Consciousness, Trinity, and the Soul. It answered many questions that I had and it leads one to Christian Mysticism. I would recommend Evolution of Consciousness as a resource for spiritual renewal because the book outlines, with specific and practical guidelines, a life any person in the world—no matter their station—might adopt with great benefit. Here is ancient Christian wisdom written so contemporary Christians may understand. If you have any more sites or places that might be interested please let me know. I wrote the book to appeal to Christians who want more and want to go deeper in themselves and Christianity. This is my mode for spreading Progressive Christian Beliefs.
  17. A good progressive Catholiic site. Read all the links. The web site is http://geocities.com/trinitypublishing2004/
  18. Science and inspiration are working together to describe the path of pure consciousness from the invisible to the visible and then from the physical struggle of matter back to the inner peace and happiness of pure consciousness. Science recognizes some religious principles that are universal and intangible, but its main purpose is to support the tangible values that have already been discovered because science is measurement, description and classification of natural development. It describes life in action, but does not dare to say what the purpose of life is intended to perform. We accept the invisible principles of science because the deductions made can be proven, and the results are observable. The scientist is the grammarian who classifies the different words in an essay and identifies them as nouns, verbs or objects. He can describe the words in relation to one another, but he does not venture to say whether the essay is good or bad in respect to literature, philosophy or art; therefore, science does not give us a philosophy of life. Remember, the scientist is a grammarian he doesn’t supply a conclusion to an essay. Modern science does look at the facts it has collected and make ingenious guesses though, for example the electron. The scientists tried to understand the mechanism of an atom and they have formed pictures of a mechanism, which could be responsible for all the things observed in their limited instruments, but they are never quite sure because the pictures keep changing, as the instruments get better. Therefore, we see scientific knowledge as speculative on what the scientist sees that could be experimentally applicable to the physical world. Religion on the other hand is not so much knowledge either as it is belief. It takes another person’s internal experiences and forms ideas on ethics and morality using symbolic forms that are speculative about the experience. Sometimes we are betrayed by the ideas in science and religion, because people stumble and are merely human so skepticism can be healthy, when we consider the source, but we cannot doubt everything. We must believe in our own capacity to know, speculate, be good, and all will be well. We must believe in our moral and spiritual qualities, our capacity to love and our commitment to know who we really are so we can begin to develop our spiritual consciousness.
  19. Jesus said, "I am the light and the way and it is only through me that my Father's kingdom can be attained." Jesus was a man, and Christ was the perfect man. Christ consciousness is perfect. The Christ way is to lay aside our fears, doubts and worries so we can enter into a silent, peaceful contemplation of pure consciousness. Pure consciousness is within us and is perfect and because it is perfect, it destroys our doubts and fears, and casts out all uncertainty and disbelief. We must let go of everything, drop every fear from our minds, and enter into inner communion with the Father in pure consciousness. Now, from pure consciousness we draw full, complete and perfect joy, which causes us to surrender to the Father then God can remove every mental obstruction to peace because we surrender all confusion, doubt, condemnation and judgment to Him. Because the Soul is higher than the mind and more than the body, all conflicts can be removed and healed without effort, both in the mind and the body. The Christ way governs the activities of our life leading us to fulfillment with joy, love, unity, happiness and success. There are many paths to perfection. The way of Jesus Christ is the path to perfection that I chose, but I realize that there are many paths to perfection as there are individuals. The only way is through the light of perfection, but there are many candles giving off and lighting other candles so I think Jesus was saying it is only through perfection that one experiences the kingdom of pure consciousness.
  20. I am glad you are drawing on the invisible forces of unity and can feel the oneness and see that responsibility, decision-making and optimism all flow together in one universal consciousness, where God is an obvious reality. Jesus said, "I and the Father are one." Christ consciousness is lighting a path to pure consciousness. Without a doubt the mind of God the Father is everywhere in pure consciousness and in the individual consciousness of all living things. The spirit of God is the principal partner in the human compound of body, mind and spirit, but it is usually ignored because it does not come across as the voice of authority especially to those who like things cut and dried. Organized religion is the voice of authority and it can meddle, tinker and mean well, but to break up old patterns of thought and behavior, we need to open ourselves to new possibilities. With the highest exercise of our intellect we know the purpose of our existence and can proceed to live intelligently according to it, if we direct our physical and mental activities to the pure consciousness of God. We know we are on the right path because pure consciousness makes cheerful every action and person contacted. Thanks for the encouragement.
  21. Yes, this book is timely, for it responds to the “knowledge of the heart” which one can say is also Gnosis. Yet today,at the end of the second millennium we see radical deterioration of many Christian ideologies because they have evaded the great questions and answers addressed by science and psychology. The clarity, frankness, and authenticity of this Christian book to answer these questions for the human mind cannot fail to impress and (in time) to convince Christians that they have a divine spark resident within them. The book talks about Christ consciousness an invisible force of unity where a person can feel the oneness and see that responsibility, decision-making and optimism all flow together in one universal consciousness, where God is an obvious reality (God the Father). One benefits tremendously physically, mentally and spiritually, when a deep awareness of unity is established because the habit of being positive is acquired, and God is no longer a closed concept, but an infinite vast always present consciousness. I believe in one God, but his book explained how one God is beyond the myriad forms so we are not tricked into thinking that there are more than one God. My God is better than your god insinuates that there is more than one God. This statement I feel is false and a misuse of belief. I feel this book flows with intelligence, inspiring, guiding and helping people to take and put more back into life by becomming better Christians internally and externally.
  22. I believe in the Christian’s consciousness of acceptance that there is one God and that He created all things is a conceptual truth that frees the mind to think of God all the time. This should relax the emotions so we can praise everything as good because it came from God. Some Christian philosophies have a lack of total explanation; therefore, they have lost the power to bring about the original experience of oneness and have become superstitions and an impediment on the road to spiritual development. Christ consciousness is beyond the normal mundane world of time and space and is the living expression of the pure consciousness of God where everyone can find fulfillment. Turning from material beliefs to spiritual beliefs will change our perspective and reveal the ever-present divine Love that is in pure consciousness. Therefore, we should not be afraid to mingle with other groups or individuals from those institutions, but the organization of those other groups are afraid to mingle with us because their superstitions will be exposed.
  23. The exceptional finding that there is one God awaits each one of us, giving us the ability to change our lives for the better. When we understand the true meaning of one God, our concept of god expands and builds a greater awareness of God’s presence within us. It is a journey towards unity and a new way of living. As we progress on this journey to oneness, we find our lives gradually transformed in a positive way, which includes both the conscious and the unconscious. This balance brings the discovery of a new reality along with a balance between the rational and the irrational, between the intellect and instinct, and between the conscious mind and the unconscious. As we acquire unity, we see that nothing exist in isolation so the nature of our being is unity, a unity of body, mind and spirit. Wholeness or holiness can be achieved with a watchful mind and the knowledge that everything is united in God, if old fears, doubts and prejudices wear away to make room for new ideas and understanding. Unity is not a new concept, but we must open up to it to make it effective so it can change our lives, making us aware that our bodies are in harmony with God, and His power is within. God flows through every atom of our being fortifying, energizing and renewing, but we are not aware of it. Embracing and identifying with unity, instead of our minds easily opens our being to the influx of new ideas, new thoughts, new people, and the new situations that come into our experience.
