It seems that The Jedi Religion might be the beginning of a trend. I just found out that there is also a "new religion" based on The Matrix trilogy. This religion even tries to usurp the work of C.S. Lewis by including his passing as one of their observed holidays. I'm not exactly sure what motivates people to join pop cults such is these but the fact that they are is somewhat alarming.
