  1. I walk a fine line about the miraculous vs. the teachings of Christianity. I was more or less an atheist up until age 35, didn't care much about spirituality or God and was not a Christian finding Christianity to be a morbid theology pointing Christians in the wrong direction--heaven, instead of earth and the problems here that need to be fixed. But then "out of nowhere" God came and did a number on me, put me through a three day spiritual boot camp and completely overturned my prior atheism. But was I a "born again Christian"? Yes and no. From the very beginning of my Christian walk God informed me through the stream of mental spiritual insights flooding into my mind at that time that the Bible was written by fallible men and could not be used as historical reference, only metaphorical and allegorical reference, the product of ancient men dealing with spiritual consciousness. So the authorized Story of Jesus Christ was never taken literally by me. My faith in the Spirit of Christ was strictly due to having personally experienced it as part and parcel of that three day religious conversion experience. To me that Spirit of Christ was like a wave that flowed over the Holy Land from 100 BC to 200 AD inspiring many writers to tell their experience of that Spirit of Christ which seemed wrapped around a mysterious Jewish healer claiming the power of God behind him. This is my "proof" of Christianity's authentic spiritual origins, the fact that Something inspired so many people in the region to believe in this magical person who was the center of a "Christ" cult, a Messiah cult but one blending pagan dying/resurrection god-men mythologies with the Jewish epic. Then the other aspect of my Christian belief came into play. I started getting religious visions and revelations myself and I knew they were not being generated by my own mind because I was getting spiritual information I never knew about and being led to verify its authenticity by comparing this new stuff coming into my mind with the Judeo-Christian traditions. This congruency of what I experienced and past record of prophesy bearing in the Jewish tradition has become my anchor of Christian belief because for the past 32 years now God has been leading me ahead of the learning curve of Christian scholarship. 32 years ago I "knew" that the Gospels were fictions but still contained much spiritual truth. 32 years ago I knew the Goddess aspect of the Godhead, the Divine Feminine, was missing and will be reinstated within the Christian tradition. 32 years ago God again put me on the Egyptian connection although I missed the blatant synchronicity "sign" God had given me that you can see for yourselves right in the original religious conversion experience report I wrote in 1979. I will put this aside in here since my reasons for being here are now in question: I must admit here though the whole Jesus is a Stoic type philosopher/social critic line of research and opinion of the Jesus Seminar/Spong/Borg/etc. efforts never held my attention as I wasn't convinced any part of the Gospels held historical truth. Jesus Christ of the Gospels was a purely spiritual being as far as I was concerned. I once joined the Jesus Seminar's open discussion group in order to dialogue with bible scholars about the Talmud's accounts of their "Jesuses". Guess what? I was booted off and banned when I posted my observation to one of the J.S. scholars that he seemed to know less than I did about the Talmud stories. So Progressive Christian forum monitors here reacting to my Gnostic Christian information seem just as trigger-happy to get rid of me as the J.S. people did. And Gnostic forums? They don't recognize a Johannine Gnostic as legitimately Gnostic. Gotta get with the classical Gnostic agenda which I never did as my Gnosticism has to do with "knowledge of God" being salvational but the old Gnostic antagonism against Creation I part company with having found a truer Creator God whose identity was not Yahweh but EL Elyon, or more accurately, the Elohim, the "We" of Genesis I. Also ignored as primitive evolution schematic were the Gnostic "syzygies", those pairings of angelic names emanating from an unknowable Godhead. My Gnosticism is more like Carl Jung's than Valentinius' for example. Anyway, here I am on these Progressive boards as a Gnostic Christian who wants to discuss the Egyptian connection with Progressive Christians but wanting to do this without having to swear any allegiance to the Progressive Flag of group mind think, i.e. those Progressive guidelines. Now back to Egypt. Are the spiritual archetypes found in the Egyptian religion and redone in the Christian Gospels for real? Or are they just cynically manipulated Jewish myths made to sell a breakaway radical Jewish religious group's newly created religion to the world? The atheist scholars putting out such books as Christ in Egypt and Man-Made God are saying that this is all it ever was but I can't buy this. Why? Because those spiritual archetypes are real for me--I'm living them out with my own life and I know I never planned it that way. "As above, so below" defines my spiritual life and this is why I don't need any scholars opinion to know spiritual reality exists, God exists, and the Spirit of Christ cannot ever be defeated by historical discovery. Not when the Spirit is alive and well and bringing new spiritual things to our modern world.
  2. You guys just are completely blind to what you are doing. Do you not understand that you are ATTACKING my Gnostic religious beliefs and my opinions by using censorship as your weapon? Do you expect me to lie down and take it happily without complaint? Please get a grip on reality, Joseph and you other monitors. I'm not a doormat and if you attack my beliefs and my opinions by saying I cannot express them here, you should expect negative reaction from me which is exactly what you're getting. I don't care that you want to cover up your intolerance of non-Progressive Christian views that I post here as a Gnostic Christian but when you think your fist of censorship hidden inside a velvet glove excuses your actions, think again. You are acting just like fundamentalist Christian bigots who, just like you do, have their "reasons" for censoring non-fundamentalist Christian posters on their forums even though like here, I too am a Christian and should be able to post my Christian beliefs and opinions just like other Christians do. Because we Gnostics have been so persecuted by Pauline Christians of all stripes of course you're going to find us being sensitive to hypocrites like you who at first told me I would be welcome but as soon as I started posting my differences in Christian beliefs, BAM! out come the guns of censorship. Now I'm being politely asked to leave this forum since I won't kow tow and lie down in face of forum administrator threats. If you would just be accountable for your actions that provoke the kind of hostility from me that you see then perhaps we could get beyond this impasse but I'm not holding my breathe for that to happen having too much experience with angry egos of forum monitors playing god with members' posts and unable to cope with criticism. Too bad, another intolerant religious forum it seems. I am only here now because I am dedicated to notifying every Christian forum I can of the new Christianity that is upon us now with the Egyptian connection and the new uniting of Old and New World Savior prophesies of Holy Land and Native American spiritual traditions.
  3. Here's a sample of what I'm talking about in the Egyptian connection: "Some parallels between Horus and Jesus Christ: 1. Horus born of a virgin. <> Jesus born of a virgin. 2. The foster father of Horus was Seb or Seph. <> Jesus was fostered by Joseph. 3. Horus was of royal descent. <> Jesus was of royal descent. 4. Horus birth accompanied by three solar deities [star gazers] who followed by the morning star of Sirius bearing gifts. <> Jesus birth accompanied by three wise men [Zoroastrian star gazers] who followed by a star “in the east” bearing gifts. 5. The birth of Horus announced by angels. <> The birth of Jesus announced by angels. 6. Herut tried to murder the infant Horus. <> Herod slaughtered every first born in an attempt to kill Jesus the forthcoming messiah. 7. Horus is baptized at age 30 by Anup the Baptiser at a river. <> Jesus is baptized at age 30 by John the Baptist at a river. 8. Horus resists temptation by the evil Sut [sut was to be the precursor for the Hebrew Satan] on a high mountain. <> Jesus resists temptation by Satan on a high mountain. 9. Horus had 12 followers. <> Jesus had 12 disciples. 10. Horus performed miracles like healing the sick and walking on water. <> Jesus performed miracles like healing the sick and walking on water. 11. Horus raised someone from the grave [his father Osiris] <> Jesus raised Lazarus [notice the name similarity] from the grave. Lazarus is short for Elasarus - the “us” on the end is romanized. Elasarus was derived from “El-Asar” which was the name given to Osiris. 12. Horus was buried and resurrected in the city of Anu. <> The place Bethany mentioned in John was a derivative of the words “Bet” and “Anu” which translates “the house of Anu”. The ‘y’ on the end of bethany is interchangeable with the letter ‘u’. 13. Horus was killed by crucifixtion. <> Jesus was crucified. 14. Horus was accompanied by two thieves at the crucifixtion. <> Jesus was crucified with two thieves. 15. Horus was buried in a tomb at Anu. <> Jesus was buried in a tomb located in Bethany [bet-Anu]. 16. Horus was resurrected after 3 days. <> Jesus was “said” to resurrected after over a period of three days. 17. The resurrection of Horus was announced by three women. <> The resurrection of Jesus was announced by three women. 18. Horus was given the titel KRST which means “anointed one” <> Jesus was given the title Christ [Christos] meaning “anointed one”" The story of Lazarus' resurrection is proof of Jewish Christian borrowing of Egyptian religious ideas: In the story, Lazarus is resurrected from the dead by Jesus at Bethany. Well, like Eliezer, Abraham's aid-de-camp, Lazarus too is derived from Hebrews combining two gods into one name, EL plus Asir, or Asar, which is Egyptian for Osiris (Greek) "Lazarus" is EL Osiris. Every year the ancient Egyptians reenacted Osiris' death and resurrection at the House of Anu which John Hebrewizes as Beth+ "any" to equal Bethany. Origin in the second century (?) looked for Bethany and couldn't find it then. D.M. Murdoch has written several books about the Egyptian connection, Christ in Egypt is the most fact filled one. Barbara Walker has just published Man-made God again showing how ancients made these religious mythologies using astro-theology, star based anthropomorphized stories of creator, savior gods and goddesses. Try Googling these authors and I will try to find the link I once had that compressed most all the Egyptian connections into one fact-filled article. I myself found this connection to Gnostic Christianity in the name "Boanerges" "Sons of Thunder" the two brothers supposedly of fiery temperament. But with the Egyptian connection strong to Gnostics (they still used Egyptian magical formulas in some of their gospels and of course, fled to Egypt's deserts to escape Pauline Christian mobs set loose by the Church Fathers in the newly state-sanctioned Christian religion of Constantin's Roman Empire). Found in the Nag Hammadi Library cache of lost Gnostic Gospels was a Gnostic Hymn to Isis, one who's appellations was as a Goddess of Thunder. So were Boanerges followers of Isis, i.e. "Sons of Thunder"? Given the very strong Egyptian connections to Christianity I think so. Here's another one I found: Both Mark and John's (John-Mark as Mark's full name connection?) John the Baptist refers to not being able to "unloose" the sandal strap of Jesus, the one who comes after John and is "mightier". Well, the Egyptian word for "sandal strap" is the same one they used for their symbol of life and resurrection to eternal life, ankh. And associated with the ankh mystery was the Knot of Isis which when "loosened" gave the one who could do so knowledge of resurrection to eternal life. Mark is considered by Coptic Christians to be the founder of the first Christian church in the world in Alexandria, Egypt. Writers of the Gospels if they were in Alexandria had access to not only all of Egypt's religious lore but that of many other religious texts kept in the Library of Alexandria. Theophilus, appointed by Rome, had Christian mobs destroy that Library and with it, all traces of Gnostic input into original Christian gospels. It is looking more and more as though the Gospels were composed originally by Alexandrian Jewish Gnostics competing with other Gnostic schools by demanding Jesus Christ be recognized as coming in the flesh and not a spiritual being as Gnostic schools would have him. This has a point which can only be recognized when you know the role of the Son of Man tradition in imparting spiritual knowledge of the relationship between God and humanity. So much to discuss..can we do this? Or will my ever-so gentle and compromising ways of expressing myself be too much for forum monitors to tolerate? Stay tuned, folks, for round two or is it twenty-two?
  4. What a bunch of crap! What if I had put a smiley at the end of my observation, eh? Like this: "I don't see how one can be a Christian without faith in the magical qualities of Jesus' name, " What I see going on here is a Progressive Christian insecurity about the belief system no doubt due to Progressive Christians getting hammered by Evangelicals wherever they post their Progressive opinions to mainstream Christian audiences. So, in order to avoid this happening here they want to create this NEW Christian all faiths are identical and therefore meaningless ideology that has been borrowed from Buddhism, a religion based on atheism. Why are you Progressive monitors so afraid to be held accountable for your actions that smack very much of censorship of Christian values learned from Christian Gospels. I am a Gnostic Christian. I get hammered Everywhere I post my Gnostic beliefs and opinions. I was hoping this forum would be different, more liberal to include a liberal Gnostic but no, it's the same old shite where the forum administrators have their belief systems and if someone comes along and seriously challenges them, they boot them off as soon as they possibly can. I demand intellectual honesty in any forum I participate in. I want to be able to freely express my Christian beliefs and opinions without censorship based on someone else' ideas of what a Christian can or cannot say in public. Anyone who reads the Gospels without prejudice will come away knowing that Jesus Christ demanded accountability, demanded we seek and speak our truth, even to the point of pissing off established authorities. This is what I do as a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Nowhere does Jesus tell us to "play nice", "be mello", "don't make waves", "everyone just get along". In fact, Jesus says just the opposite or did you miss the point of the salt loosing its effectiveness? Joseph and you other forum monitors, you're going to just have learn to trust your members. I'm not calling anyone names, not provoking violence, not telling anyone they're going to hell if they don't believe me. I am challenging the Christian beliefs being posted here and if members do not want their beliefs challenged, why are they here? Just to schmooze? We've got better things to do with our lives. I have a ton of new Christian information that I'd like to share..if I can, if this forum will allow members to post their beliefs and opinions and visions without prejudice. Shalom, Stephen
  5. I may be banned at any time, one never knows as I've crossed swords with Joseph who runs this forum his way. I came here to share my Christian beliefs, opinions, visions and revelations with you all thinking that a Gnostic Christian p.o.v. might be of interest here seeing how us Gnostics and our Egyptian connection now place Gnostic Christianity closer to the origins of Christianity in Alexandria, Egypt. There is a very strong atheist movement afoot now to defame Christianity and all belief in God being put out by atheist historians and their fellow travelers. Barbara Walker and D.M. Murdoch are heading this group and because neither one has spiritual consciousness they are using the myths of Abrahamic religions as "proof" of man-made artifice. In similar manner to Joseph's banning of undesired criticism after trying to inject a Christian response to these atheist attacks on theism I have been banned from two of these atheist discussion forums. They don't want to hear from theists anything that counters their atheist opinions. Instead of banning me, I'd like to help Christians respond to this new Egyptian information that is being used to discredit Christian doctrines. I would like to help create a dialogue on the new Egyptian information and the sun-god linkages to Christ and Christianity. I can't do this if I'm being censored for honestly posting my Christian beliefs. I won't be surprised if no one cares as I've found that forum behavior matches any clique behavior pattern, i.e., those who are "in" will defend their status against those who are rejected from the club by the club master. I'd like to be proven wrong but wait and see how forum members rise or keep their heads down in this challenge to the present censorship of non-Progressive Christian members posting their beliefs and opinions.
  6. I have been banned by Joseph because I have expressed my opinions as a Christian who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. We have here an administrator who seems confused about his Christian identity and is inflicting his own beliefs about what constitutes walking the Christian path by power tripping over other member's posted beliefs and opinions. By "power tripping" I mean deleting posts he doesn't like and banning members who's expressed beliefs and opinions he doesn't like. I refer you to the locked thread where Joseph is accused of inflicting Buddhist attitudes here on a Christian forum. This complaint matches my own hidden dialogue going on in pm between Joseph and me, hidden because we banned members aren't allowed to defend ourselves in peer review, no, we have to deal with the self-selected censor of us, Joseph. I don't know if this post will be allowed. In short, Joseph is running this forum as his own private domain and inflicting his own personal religious views on to us while judging ours against his own and attacking us who differ with him. Did we come here to be under the thumb of a self-selected archon imposing what several of us question as Christian values in order to run off anyone who dares complain? I didn't come here to please Joseph. I come here to share Christianity with the rest of you. Joseph needs to step aside from playing fast and loose with our expressed beliefs and opinions so that we can dialogue without a Big Brother looking over our shoulders checking to see if we have phrased our comments to meet his arbitrary rules protecting his beliefs from critical review. Personally, I think this is really about Joseph's insecurity in his Christian beliefs which is why he is so determined to stop any serious criticisms of the kind of Buddhist compromised Christianity he advocates.
  7. No. This discussion is closed as far as I'm concerned. I won't be bullied by anyone here into how or what I can post as my Christian beliefs. I don't care for strong arm tactics, Joseph. If you want to play god with people's beliefs do it on your own time but don't try it with me. Belonging to a forum run by self-elected power trippers is not of much value to me. I have enjoyed the reception I've gotten but you've played hardball with my posts now too many times for me to cater to you or anyone who tries to control free discussion of ideas when nobody's slandering anyone's beliefs, just posting their own opinions about them.
  8. You mean if I counter your arguments you give up trying to communicate with me? What's that about? Don Brenard and I live at the poverty level and it took some doing to get enough money to pay for the trip from here in N.California to get back to the midwest to do our spiritual work. Why don't you or Texans send Don some travel money next drought for him to do his rituals to bring in rain to Texas? Personally, I was pretty impressed when Don beats his drum and called in the Thunder Beings to bring down a tornado and right away six or seven tornado funnels dropped from the parent cloud. While I am skeptical of most supernatural claims here and there amongst them is the real deal in my opinion. Btw, are you a shaman to tell us what shamans do or do not do?
  9. Jesus Christ of the Gospels is a spiritual being. He even tells us so if indirectly in Luke; "For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." Jesus is aligning himself as a being within the kingdom of God and as something not of normal human experience, i.e. not being born of women. Where the anointing meaning of Messiah and Christ derives from will no doubt come as a shock to Abrahamic puritans but I have no reason not to believe its true. Before the Brahmin/Abrahamic patriarchal takeover of the former pagan religious beliefs there was in pagan natural religions a ritual symbolizing the king spiritually "marrying" the gods or top God as he was crowned for office. The ritual was sexual in symbolism, symbolizing a sacred marriage. The king's head symbolized the head of a ###### where the crown was originally a crown of flowers, symbolizing a woman's vagina, the head entering it. The oil symbolized the semen that marked the union completed. This root of the ritual of anointing kings and priests in patriarchal religions has of course been thoroughly buried. It throws another light on the Crown of Thorns as well, a root icon of Christian anti-sex theology. ###### ??? Peenuss is censored but not vagina? What's that about?
  10. I agree that the basic moral teachings of Jesus do not waver with this Egyptian connection information coming in but the spiritual messages do change as well as the intellectual foundation for belief. Because God made me a radical Gnostic type of Christian from my original religious conversion experience which included informing me back in 1979 with Sign ("Ham"s [Egypt] spiritual meaning coming to me along with Cush [Egypt again] and Canaan--Ham's place name children) that Egypt was lurking in the background of my Christian understanding, this new to us complete coding of Egyptian religious system in the Gospels is not only fascinating but completing two of my own spiritual missions. Christianity can now join as equals with all the astro-theological religious systems found throughout the world. All those "sevens" including the seven loaves of bread miracle and the five loaves (= the five planets) and two fishes (= the sun and moon) in the Bible, all the 12s representing the solar year divided by the ancients 360 days of 30 day months plus the extra ones added at the Winter Solstice. It's bound to change Christians who think about their religion's roots, bound to elevate the Gnostic Christian connection to Egyptian lore, e.g. I can now see a direct line to Isis worship in the "Sons of Thunder", Boanerges, because thunder was one of Isis' appellations as a storm goddess. The Gnostic Hymn to Isis found at Nag Hammadi, Egypt, is called "The Thunder, Perfect Mind" and thus "Sons of Thunder" could well be Alexandrian Egyptian Gnostic Jews who, living surrounded by Isis theology and Temple of Isis Mystery Religious worshipers, followed Isis but were Jewish encultured. The Gospels are a creation to put this information into the Jewish epic stream--the question now for this Jewish Christian at least is why? Why did Alexandrian Gnostic Jews want to radically change Judaism? I think it was to save Jewish souls. Saturn worship didn't do this. Sun god theology included salvation of souls to eternal life through resurrection and so as the Jews have always done, they borrowed pagan mythologies and deities and remade them like Brahma and Sarasvati were remade into Abraham and Sarah.
  11. "I have struggled with whether to call myself a "Christian" anymore." Boy oh boy, can I relate to that one. I'm a modern Gnostic type Christian and try explaining that to traditional church going Christians you meet. And only on this Progressive Christian forum are the majority of Christians liberal. Go to most any other forum of Christians and right-wing Christians prevail, Jesus to them somehow promoting the Republican political agenda. If there was another word for one who follows the teachings of Christ I would welcome it but there isn't, so we're all stuck with the mixed bag of Christians, some of whom would scare the be-jesus out of Jesus with their "Christian" beliefs.
  12. Jenell, when did you lose faith in magic? You really can't be a Christian without faith in the magical qualities of Jesus' name, "In the Name of Jesus" remember? What is that but a magical incantation, a magical invocation for a Spirit to appear and help one. I'm sorry but Christianity is all about magic or perhaps more accurately about invisible forces we have no science for which traditionally we label "Spirit". But you paint a most secular outlook devoid of Spirit which is magical. You wouldn't do well in Native American spiritual tradition with your outlook. Every shaman has their means of future prognostication and yes, even the Jewish high priests had theirs while fibbing about not using divination. What do you think those "Thummin and Urim" were all about but the Jewish priest's method of using knuckle bones according to one religious historian for divination in order to guide the tribe. Over the Summer Solstice, around St. John's Day which symbolizes it in Christian tradition, I went with two other spiritual leaders back to Montana and South Dakota to finish the second major spiritual vision I've had. Before we went my Bear River tribal partner got a Sign to take the trip when he called in the Thunder Beings to split the storm cloud here at the most western point of the continental U.S., right near Cape Mendocino, coming over from Japan supposedly leaden with radioactivity from the failed Japanese nuclear power stations. His ritual did split the storm front here in Humboldt County and as the Thunder Beings passed they let loose their thunder bolts and 20 Aleutian geese were killed, fell from the sky and my friend picked one up and brought it home here. We both agreed it was time for another wild goose chase and a few weeks later we were in Montana and S.D. and Nebraska where I posted how my tribal buddy again called the Thunder Beings which caused about six or seven tornado clouds to form within minutes although they all evaporated before touching ground. You could here Them in the clouds as continuous thunder, what is called "Rolling Thunder" but if your atheistic and think God is somehow not playing a part of the magic of the world then you're missing a big hunk of spiritual reality. I posted that bowl for your consideration because it does provide proof of a Christ the Magician cult in existence at the time of the writing of the Gospels. You believe the Story as written but that's not going to help you unravel the real roots of Christian doctrine. For another example, you believing the Three Wise Men story as a real event not knowing it appears to me about the Egyptian religion's assignment of the three stars in Orion's Belt that point to Sirius, Osiris' star, as Messengers and Kings, their Sign in the sky appearing prominently at the horizon I think it is, could be wrong there, during the Winter Solstice, December 25th being the traditional birthday of sun gods. The Gospels are laced with Egyptian astro-theology symbolism and we now must deal with this information that radically changes Christianity as it restores and puts the Gnostic tradition in a new light.
  13. Jenell, I have been immersed in the counterculture since the '60's and of course counterculture's interests have been absorbed in my life. You look at what's happening now on Wall Street and all over American cities and see a repeat of the very same disgust with mainstream American values that keep destroying our democracy through senseless war profiteering that our generation protested against in our way. Like everything else, there's good and bad mixed together so you're advice doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, especially when you link it to throwing out historical scholarship as well. In any event, I am led by God to find these bits and pieces of ancient Near Eastern religious lore because we Christians in our times are going to have to recreate our Christian beliefs that have been handed down to us without scrutiny far too long. You need to take a look at this: October 02, 2008 Ancient Bowl Engraved "Christ the Magician" Discovered Jesusbowl324x205_2 A team of scientists led by renowned French marine archaeologist Franck Goddio recently announced that they have found a bowl, dating to between the late 2nd century B.C. and the early 1st century A.D., that is engraved with what they believe could be the world's first known reference to Christ, providing evidence that Christianity and paganism at times intertwined in the ancient world. The full engraving on the bowl reads, "DIA CHRSTOU O GOISTAIS," which has been interpreted by the excavation team to mean either, "by Christ the magician" or, "the magician by Christ." Posted by Jason McManus. Sources: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26972493/ http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/10/01/jesus-bowl.html Reading this news article was the third signal from God I received since the first one in 1964 about a possible Egyptian connection to Christianity. It has led to finding Egyptian religious ideas hidden within the Gospels for me, e.g. the Lazarus/Osiris connection I think I mentioned elsewhere. Then I found D.M. Murdock's Christ in Egypt book material and it cinched up the Egyptian connection that much more. Christianity is a Jewish Egyptian Mystery Religion that spoke and thought in Greek more than Hebrew. We will need now to completely overhaul all traditional Christian ideas about what Christianity is all about. It isn't what the Church Fathers told us it was.
  14. I came, I saw, I conquered. Damp! Some else used that one. OK, how about Jesus is coming! Look busy? Oh, that's only five. This is harder than it looks..
  15. I'm aware of those other snake connections but not in any scholarly way, just stuff I've picked up over the years in the counterculture's fascination with Eastern mysticism and Goddess worship. Because the basic messages of Jesus Christ are fairly unique to his emphasis, e.g. raising the role of forgiveness of sins in people's attitudes towards those not following the religious rules and those outside the proper social roles, e.g. tax-collectors and harlots, I do believe there was an original historical "Jesus". My money's on Yeishu ben Pantera who is defamed and castigated in the Talmud accounts of a mysterious Jewish healer who used "the name of God" to do his healing work leading "many astray" according to the Talmud critics who had Yeishu and his five disciples stoned to death and Yeishu hung on a tree as per Jewish law, (see Paul's reference to this in Gal. 3:13 I think it is). Whatever magic Yeishu/Yeshua/Jesus/Christ the Magician did create a legendary personage who was mythologized as Jesus Christ of the Gospels. Did Yeishu have Indian/Greek healing knowledge? I couldn't tell you because logic says that if Yeishu/Jesus was raised in Egypt and was literate he would have had access to the Library of Alexandria where the wisdom of many lands were stored away in scrolls. We only know that Mark the author of the first Gospel was in Alexandria where Coptic Christians claim he founded the first Christian church in the world. But the Gospel writers knowledge of and relationship to the original Yeishu is anyone's guess. The Gospels aren't about biography of Jesus but about a God-Man saving the world.
