  1. isnt buddism a belief system in which they hold a man who is alive today as 'god incarnate' and he is always replaced by another when he dies? correct me if im wrong
  2. all who believe in the son, his disciples. do you think this includes evil? why did he say this. 24I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. --- consider some who reject Christ as Messiah, and in doing so, place themselves under the laws of Moses, which may be one thing, if they fulfilled the laws of Moses. but if not, where is their protection
  3. if this is all Jesus wanted us to hear then why did he keep speaking?, through Christs teachings we actually learn what love is and how to love one another, without his teachings and following what is his to command of his disciples i wonder if one can understand what he meant by 'loving one another', it is not just mouthing it.
  4. consider these verses 21Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. 22Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. 23Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together. 24Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you. 25I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay. (isaiah 41:21-25) ------ 5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (genesis 3:5) ----- do good or do evil.
  5. Jesus makes his claim as the Christ, Messiah, in many many ways, saying it plainly too.
  6. i will also add, my threads are in the 'debate and discussion' section.
  7. the nazi's were not a Christian organization, if it would be associated to anything it would be pageanism, Christian would not do such things, maybe false professed Christians maybe, which some in the world are, they talk the talk but do they walk the walk, loving one another doesnt only happen when everyone is faking a smile towards on another.
  8. "None of your posts were changed or censored" yes, i have had posts not displayed pending on approval, all my posts i would suggest shouldnt have a problem being considered free speech as it is done in a cordial manner,to put all my posts on a approval basis is censorship "perceived condescending behavior as if you are a self proclaimed teacher of the truth and members here mere students." i did not say this, you say it. "In 4 days you have posted 31 times" well, i have had a lot of responses which will result in responses = many posts, so? "have acted as if you aren't even reading those posts by contining to call them steps in later posts" missed that, okay, points, it happens, im not perfect, maybe you thought i was doing purposly and you read in to it, again , your words, not mine. "For now you will remain on moderator approval of posts and if your behavior / attitude doesn't change you will no longer be welcomed on this site." censorship often leads into bias and discrimination. "Point 5 - By calling ourselves progressive, we mean that we are Christians who know that the way we behave toward one another and toward other people is the fullest expression of what we believe." walk the talk, censoring me and having a bias outlook would not reflect this point, but rather seems like control issues. "Also telling us a little about your background and personal testimony would go a long way to opening up communication lines and easing any tensions on both of our parts. We can then perhaps all learn together in mutual respect." is this a requirment for participation on this site, ? i choose to get to know who i am talking to a little first before going into my background and personal testimony, there are many mockers in the world. am i allowed to make that personal choice? "If this doesn't interest you, i see no reason for you to remain here if no fellowship is desired." your words not mine. , and in my opinion doesnt reflect "loving one another" , the first step to fellowship may be allowing me to speak freely, unblock my posts, and i will tell a little about myself , only what i feel comfortable in doing so at this time, is that okay? btw, i introduced myself and this is the only response. "Thanks and welcome Steve, That's not quite what i had in mind for an introduction . But if that is all you wish to share. That will be fine. Joseph " so which is it? fine or not fine? . [note, addressing two posts in this reply]
  9. when someones posts are being screened , even though they are spaeking in a repective manner, even if it may have a 'socrates' approach, are we not free to speak and share in our understandings and question and search and explore? for what reason could the moderators put my posts on hold for approval?
  10. what do you think about those verses i posted regarding "forsaken" and "thirst" (it is my loose understanding at this point that it was part of the fulfillments) ---- 37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 8:37-39) PS why are my posts being screened? is this religeous censorship?
  11. i welcome people to comment on the thread and the questions put forth.
  12. Jesus was reciting psalms when he asked "why have you forsaken me."....it was not from a doubt. lets look at some scripture and we can see how God promised that he would not forsaken men, so, we can consider in relation to 'i thirst' and spirit being given to the world, that God forsook him as he gave his only begotten son. Jesus knew, but recited , not doubt but affirming. --- 16For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. (Psalm 22:16) 1My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? (Psalm 22:1) 46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46) 14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. (Psalm 22:14) 17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. 18I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. (Isaiah 41:17-18) 28After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. 30When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. (John 19:28-30)
  13. oops, i didnt make this thread, my bad. ---- is doubt necessary? can teachings of the parable of the sower relate to doubt? who is blindly accepting things? I think some may have a uninformed opinion on the values of doubt. could you please show scripture that promotes doubt? why do you think that people who accept Jesus words as the word of God is blind acceptance rather than a acceptance based on strong faith developed by the spirit? I think it is impossible to have 'blind acceptance'.
  14. can we get back to the thread topic? its not about wether my type of search is valid or not.
