Here is a book that I believe is indispensable reading.

Maine State Representative Stan Moody (who holds a PhD and is an ordained minister) has written a terrific book. Here are some selections from the publisher’s blurb:

McChurched is a must read for concerned, thoughtful believers who are confused by the seemingly inconsistent actions of those claiming to speak for God. Failing to follow the teaching and example of Christ is a deadly prescription for the church and for American life.”

It is clear to me that Dr. Moody is acting on the content of the convictions he expresses in his book. A few months ago, he initiated the formation of an organization called the Christian Policy Institute which intends to give a voice to the progressive Christians in the state of Maine who are tired of the state’s Christian Right (who claim that they speak for ALL Christians with their dystrophic views of reality).

I cannot over-emphasize the importance of this book.
