I thought there was a thread on this but I can't find it now. I recently changed to drinking stricktly tap water cooled in the refriderator. This is because of cost and enviromental concerns. Chicago has imposed a tax on bottled water.

To tell the truth, there really isn't much difference in the taste if the water is cooled.

I had been purchasing my water in reusable 5 gallon jugs that go into a water dispenser. My husband hates toting them up 2 flights of stairs so we've been using refrigerator water. I prefer filtered water because the chlorine taste really bothers me. The water we were buying was "cleaned" by a process of reverse osmosis.

We have a pitcher with a built-in water filter. We keep it in the fridge. The water that comes out of it smells and tastes better than the stuff from the tap.
