Has anybody else read SHALIMAR THE CLOWN by Salmon Rushdie? It is a graphic book showing the gross inhumanity of people from all kinds of backgrounds particularly the cultures and societies associated with Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity. But he also shows the goodness and love and community with in these cultures and societies. He particularly mourns the loss of tolerance and cooperation in his native Kashmir.

"You do not need to do anything; you do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. You do not even need to listen; just wait. You do not even need to wait; just become still, quiet and solitary and the world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked. It has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet." -- Franz Kafka
